We hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! In honor of the special occasion, the JA BizTown Times put together a special holiday edition of their newspaper! Here are a few highlights...

The 4th?

The weather is CRAZY! The clouds are turning red and blue. It's raining white stars. The 4th of July is on its way! Uncle Sam is ready and all

the flags are being hung. The army is busy fighting for our freedom. Everyone is spreading the disease of red, white, and blue fever! Help celebrate the 4th: hang up a flag, watch fireworks, honor the troops, do anything. All you really need to do is have a great 4th!

The JA BizTown Times staff even wrote some funny fireworks poems!

"Roses are red, Violets are blue, Fireworks are fun, But explode on you!"

"Fireworks are fun, Fireworks are cool, If you set yourself on fire, You jump into a pool!"

"Fireworks are cool, Fireworks are fun, Once you set them alight, You better start to run!"

"Fireworks are red and blue, Stars are white, Celebrate the 4th, Or be scared of the night!"

And as a final reflection on the week, newspaper CEO, KJ, shared his thoughts about why kids should come to JA BizTown Summer Camp:

"I think kids should come to JA BizTown because it is fun and you learn a lot about the real world, and what you have to look forward to when you grow up. They should come also to learn how to handle their money correctly, learn how to balance their checkbooks, and learn how to run a business."

Do You Think We Can Keep People Wellness?

I thought about how well and clean JA BizTown is. Everyone is happy and most importantly, well. I wanted to learn more about this, so I went and interviewed none other than the CEO of the Wellness Center. I asked him, "Why is keeping citizens well so important?" He responded by saying, "It makes them happy and it will stop spreading diseases." I asked a few more questions and thanked him for his time. I came back after learning so much about staying clean and healthy. Go visit the Wellness Center and learn how to stay clean and healthy.

Spending Your Money Wisely

I think you should save some money and spend some. My parents always say "Save some for a rainy day." I think that it would be good to do as the saying says and save your money for somehting that you really want to buy. I actually saved up for a toy that I really wanted.

We Got the Beat

Do you hear that rockin music on the radio? Well I got to learn how it all works. I got lucky and got an interview with the DJ, RJ. I asked him some questions and one answer that I thought was interesting. I asked, "What has been your favorite thing about your job?" He responded, "Just communicating with the other DJ and its just so much fun." I thanked him and went on my way. Next time you have the chance, go request a song at the Radio Station. After all, They Got The Beat!

Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor,

I think that at BizTown we should have TVs around town. The reason we would have TVs is so we can show a live broadcast from the AT&T TV Station. That also leads to my thought that the TV Station should be open. I think that would be a good addition.

Do you think it was a good idea to have a spectrum toy drive? I do because what I've heard it is for a little boy or girl who isn't going to have a very good Christmas. I've never thought that some kids will not have a Christmas, with Santa Claus. So now when I look at all my stuff I know I'm very fortunate. Please Give me your opinion.

New Dogs in Town

I sat down the the CEO of the Pedigree Dog Store and talked to them about what you have to do when you adopt a dog. They said that you have to love and care for the dog! If you are wondering what types of dogs they have, they have dalmations, boxers, german sheperds and pugs.

They need a home!

Today our oceans, beaches and many more are filled with trash! The people that can help the most are the kids! We can change it all! The way the earth is now effects our future! The littlest things can help!
You can recycle! Recycle your plastic and old newspapers. Reuse - you can stop buying plastic bottles over and over again and get a reusable one! Reduce - when you turn on the sink make sure it is all the way off so there is no drip, so you are not wasting!

Adopt a Pet for the Holidays
There are lots of animals cooped up in cages in animal shelters that need homes. For Christmas, ask your mom or dad if you can go adopt one. If you look in your Sunday paper, you can find a small group of animals, their picture and other information about them. It also includes a number so you can make a call and tell them you want to come take a look at a certain one and they will hold it for you! you can find different animals in the paper every week. Remember they don't have a family like you do so make them feel special and make them a part of your family today!

Real Pedigree Dog Store
I put my best interest in the Pedigree Dog Store. They have great customer service and help you with any animal needs. They should be recognized as a quality business because they are very polite and good to the dogs that surround us. They provide them with food, shelter, toys to play with and even sweaters to keep them warm.
The Pedigree Dog Store has a very organized business. They have everything ready at the right time.
This business has many good qualities and I think many more people should recognize them.

Trip to BizTown!!!

When we go to Biztown it will be fun, we all get to have a job. The only thing is, don't forget we are really doing math because when you are writing in your checkbook you are adding and subtracting. That's why it's a good thing to pay attention in math!! But it will still be fun anyways!

Most people are probably going to the Pedigree Dog Store. A lot of people like pets, that is why I think people are going to go there.

I can't wait until we go!!

5th grade Grassland Eagles are having so much fund at JA BizTown! What fifth grader knew that working could actually be fun? From the Restraunt to the Wellnes Center, every inch is like one step farther into adult hood.

Every job here is fun. At first I didn't really think my job was going to be fun. But now I think my job is sooo much fun!

How to be a great employee!

A good employee for the newspaper needs to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable. All of the newspaper workers are just that! To be a good employee you have to always follow up on your word and never give up even when you feel like quitting! You should treat everyone kindly and do the best you can do!! I know that everyone will have a great experience in biztown, and try the best they can do!! If you work hard all the time the work will pay off! Now lastly, a good employee has to be courageous, if they don't feel like they can do their best then what's the point? You ened to feel like you can do anything! If you are tod to do something you know you will give 110%!! I know all of you BizTown citizens will always try your best, give 110% and be a GREAT employee!!!!
